What is the Interprofessional Clinic?

James Cook University’s Interprofessional Clinic offers an innovative workforce initiative where individuals with chronic conditions can receive input from more than one discipline. These include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, exercise physiology, speech pathology and psychology. Clients are treated by JCU students in their 3rd and 4th years of their course program, supervised by a clinical educator.

Our aim is to use interprofessional collaboration in a student led client centred service. This model of health care has been shown to enable effective practice and to enhance therapy outcomes and client satisfaction.
